B.I.G. EXACT™

Lenses based on an exact biometric eye model powered by Rodenstock’s unique DNEye® technology.

From precise eye measurement to true precision vision

With B.I.G. VISION™, Rodenstock creates a paradigm shift in ophthalmic lenses by taking into account the unique shape and size of each eye. By manufacturing lenses based on the individual data of the eye, spectacles are created that provide their wearer with the sharpest vision.

At Rodenstock, we determine the biometrics of the whole eye. This includes its length and several thousand data points in the eye – far beyond industry standards. With the help of these data sets an exact eye model is generated for each individual eye. All relevant biometric data flows directly into the lens production process - on this basis, we can calculate a lens that fits each individual person as perfectly as possible. This allows us to determine the center of sharp vision for each individual eye. And spectacle wearers benefit from the sharpest vision for every angle and every gaze, no matter where they look.

To underline the level of biometric precision Biometric Intelligent Glasses (B.I.G.) delivered thanks to exact eye measurements, we call them: B.I.G. EXACT.

Why Biometric Intelligent Glasses?

The key to understanding the breakthrough technology behind Biometric Intelligent Glasses starts with recognising that you don’t actually see with your eyes – you see with your brain.

Our vision consists of focus and peripheral vision

Our vision relies on two subsystems—focus vision and peripheral vision—which work together with the brain. Peripheral vision helps us navigate our surroundings and detect motion. When the brain picks up on a point of interest, our focus vision moves there to give the brain more detailed visual information, which then determines the next action.

Our eyes move up to 250,000 times a day

The continuous movement of the eyes requires that the lenses provide the right support to the wearer to have a harmonious interplay of focus and peripheral vision. This constant dynamic state of our vision underscores the importance of choosing lenses that address visual sensitivity and provide the right support for your brain.

B.I.G. EXACT™ makes a big difference to life

With B.I.G. EXACT™ ophthalmic lenses from Rodenstock, the full dynamics of daily life can be experienced again. B.I.G. EXACT™ lenses based on DNEye® technology enable an unrestricted, dynamic and natural visual experience, in harmony with the brain.
A Swiss survey of 283 customers, 90% of whom already wore glasses, shows the enormous success of B.I.G. EXACT™. It demonstrated that the use of an exact biometric eye model to produce customised lenses contributes significantly to improving the visual experience.

  • 92 percent experienced sharper vision than before.*

  • 88 percent noticed greater visual comfort compared to their old glasses.*

  • 84 percent experienced better contrast vision.*

  • 80 percent experienced improved vision at dusk.*

  • 87 percent experienced reduced adaption time.**

Six steps to the B.I.G. EXACT™ experience

    • DNEye® Scanner

The optician uses the DNEye® Scanner to determine the dimensions of every eye.

    • Measuring eye parameters

Eye parameters are measured to create an exact representation to be used in the manufacturing process.

    • Calculating measurements of individual eyes

The optician sends the data to Rodenstock, where our patented calculations are used to create a biometric data set.

    • Constructing the exact biometric eye model

This data is used to produce a precise biometric model of each eye.

    • Digital transfer of data to lens

The model of each eye is used in the lens calculation which is then transferred to the lens during production. Each lens is customised according to the biometric parameters.

    • B.I.G. EXACT™ - Lenses based on an exact biometric eye model

Just a few days after the initial consultation, the spectacle wearer receives the new glasses based on the exact biometric eye model.

NEW: B.I.G. EXACT™ Sensitive

The world’s first spectacle lenses optimised for individual visual sensitivity and biometry

With B.I.G. EXACT™ Sensitive, We have reached a new evolutionary stage. We discovered that visual sensitivity is highly individual and linked it to the individual eyes’ biometry. We used that to further develop our state-of-the-art biometric lens calculations and design lenses that are optimised precisely for each individual, marking the next evolution in B.I.G. VISION™.
